ABOUT

American Veterans Mini Home Builders (AVMHB) / Volunteers of America of Los Angeles (VOALA)

Our Management team has extensive experience in the residential building industry resulting in the development of over 20 communities and thousands of homes.  By employing a hands-on approach in all aspects of our company operations, we continue to build positive relationships between our job trainees, our skilled team of employees and the homebuyer.

The need for multi-family options within an existing single-family property is significant.  The housing marketing has not kept pace with the need/supply of affordable housing. AVMHB/VOALA aims to supply the existing homeowner the opportunity to purchase an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) that is of high quality, low cost and addresses a way to satisfy the housing shortage.

Our community programs provide services and hope to over 30,000 clients including Pre-Start and Head Start Programs for at-risk children, Transitional Age Youth (TAY) ages 18 to 24, the Homeless, Individuals with Disabilities and our Veterans. Our ADU program provides permanent housing to these same at-risk population as well as a much-needed affordable housing component for existing homeowners.

The key to success within our Community housing programs are the social services offered. Our success is measured by utilizing a comprehensive health/mental health assessment, wraparound service approach, self-sufficiency, fostering independence and maintaining a continual linkage to support services administered by VOALA.  Also offered is the ability to participate in our job training/career placement programs.
